The 2nd Annual Pittsburgh Gift Guide THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A YINZER TO LOVE

There are so many talented creators in the Steel City. And while I am all for a distinctly Pittsburgh gift, I started this gift guide so that anyone, regardless of 412 affiliation, could find something to love. These Pittsburgh business offer unique items, thoughtfully created and curated. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Each of the photo streams is a carousel so make sure you scroll through. You can click the images to go directly to the product website. Consider this a continuation from last year’s guide, which I would have been proud to simply repost because all of those businesses are still incredible.

Happy official kickoff to the holidays everyone!

Sister Epic

I am such a fan of SISTER EPIC - a luxury leather handbag line by Adrienne Guariglia, designed and hand-sewn right here in Pittsburgh. Nearly all of her leathers are hand selected and sourced in the United States. “Geometry, minimalism and captivating textures” are the elements that influence her designs and it shows. I have one of her Traveler Wallets, which blew me away with how beautiful and supremely functional it was. My passport fits inside perfectly along with thoughtfully placed pockets for my cards and cash.

Adrienne has some new designs coming soon, including a laptop case. Gift cards are available.

SASHA Handmade

SASHA is a collection of handmade, fiber-based accessories inspired by symmetry, unique color palettes, and texture. Founder Sara McClelland, who earned her Fashion Merchandising and Art Therapy degree from Mercyhurt University, moved to Pittsburgh and started creating modern cord and yarn necklaces with decorative knots, color-blocked yarn and bead earrings and bangles, and so much more. Sara sources all of the textiles she uses domestically, supporting other small businesses in the creative process. Gift cards are available.

Bombabird ceramics

Founder and designer, Chelsea Erdner has been creating unique, handmade ceramic pieces under the Bombabird brand since 2017. She creates functional stoneware that is wheel thrown, fired in an electric kiln, and finished in a custom glaze. She has a love for texture, a neutral color palette and simple form that is reflected in every piece.

Note Chelsea plans to update the online shop on Dec. 10 with new pieces including mugs, minis, winter candles and more. Gift cards are available.

Revtown

The Revtown founding team includes three former Under Armour executives — Henry Stafford, Steve Battista and Matt Maasdam. They took what they learned about the function and performance of athletic wear and infused it into their own premium denim line. The result is a proprietary fabric blend that is specifically constructed for durability, mobility and comfort. Founded in 2018, they started with men’s denim and then launched a women’s line in 2019. Gift cards available.

Clara Mae James

A North Braddock girl who spent 10 years in New York City working in the beauty industry, came home to start her own clean beauty business. Jamie Sylves has built a brand keyed in on products that meet her three guiding principles: ethos, ingredients and efficacy. Skin care, makeup, bath salts and scrubs. This is a full suite of clean beauty.

Anna Lemley

I’ve written about Anna Lemley once or twice on here. Anna is a Pittsburgh designer known for her minimalist aesthetic. She personally makes each and every garment to order with a meticulous eye for detail. Keep an eye on her website/Instagram… she has new styles and fabrics coming to the shop very soon.
