Over the last three months, my new job has had me in airports more than ever before. I’ve had a couple of scenarios where I needed to fly and then immediately go to a mostly casual dinner with colleagues, partners and prospects. I’ve gone with a look that is high in comfort and utility that could easily translate to a semi-professional setting rather easily.

This white button up from AYR is my absolute favorite travel companion. It’s the perfect oversize fit (comfort) with a convenient breast pocket for my government-issued ID (utility) and it looks super casual cool and just profresh enough, even after sitting in a tiny seat in coach for nearly four hours! It’s highly likely I’m putting another one into my shopping cart in the next week or two.

These Zara shorts have also been an awesome snag. I love the asymmetrical buttons and pockets have a delicious cargo short depth last spotted in 1994. CJ isn’t a fan of the length, which I completely understand. However, COMFORT. UTILITY. Frankly, when I’m hustling through an airport, I don’t care much about whether I look like a hot piece of ass. That said, I do love pairing my AYR button up with these shorts of the same brand. They are fluttery and cute, have pockets and… AN ELASTIC WAIST. Dude. So much comfort.

This basic travel outfit criteria also means that I love wearing my infamous boiler suit from Hazel Grey Boutique when I travel. The only drawback? Going to the bathroom. Boiler suits aren’t the most conducive to convenient loo use.

All of this travel has afforded me the unexpected benefit of finding little ways to make my airport experiences more streamlined and efficient. I so love leveling up!
