:what a week:

these photos are from a couple weeks ago. but life has been like a Real Housewives dinner table being flipped lately. this past week was supposed to be a very exciting one for me personally. i started a new job on wednesday. something for which i am very excited. it’s an enormous change in lots of ways and just three days in, i’m confident the  move was a good one. 

but my first day felt like a lid screwed on crooked. i just wasn’t prepared for tuesday’s election to end as it did. i don’t think many of us were. i’m not completely done processing what happened but at least we know now. we have a situation to which we can react and do something about.

if this election taught me anything, it’s that misinformation is insidious and it spreads like wildfire thanks to social media. actual journalism has been under assault for many years but this is the first election when i feel social media truly influenced opinions. i pledge to be extremely cautious about what kind of information i share. we all need to be diligent about checking our sources and taking memes with an enormous grain of salt. 

we’re in this together, regardless of political affiliation. i’ll never agree with the messages our president-elect spread. however, strength in unity really needs to be our creed. sending everyone love.
