:Terra Tries // EvolveX with Beleza:
Like Doing 200 Push Ups
When I was 15, I watched the movie Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. I’ve always been fascinated by Bruce Lee’s story. While the movie wasn’t winning any Oscars, I watched it more times than is really appropriate (very on brand for me). There is a scene when Bruce shares that he is using electrical muscle stimulation on his pectorals. “It’s like doing 200 push ups.” I don’t know why but that line always struck me. He was a fit guy looking for a new way to advance his fitness.
Not a typical way to start sharing my experience with EvolveX but then again, my mind makes strange associations! When I first heard of EvolveX from the team at Beleza, I immediately thought, “Oh wow. This is kinda like a modern version of Bruce Lee. Wait, I can be like Bruce Lee?! Let’s go!”
I would consider myself a fit and active individual. I have a personal trainer and I workout 6-7 times a week. I focus on balanced eating and do my best to take care of this little vessel I’m floating around in. And like Bruce Lee, I am interested in exploring ways to enhance what I’m already doing.
EvolveX is a non-invasive treatment to enhance and contour the body. During my consultation with the Beleza team, we decided that Evolve Tone was the right treatment for my goals. This is a non-surgical procedure that helps to increase muscle strength as well as enhance the shape and tone of the body.
Evolve Tone uses electrical muscle stimulation (like my boy, Bruce) to induce involuntary muscle contractions. You can apply this treatment to the abdomen, hips and glutes, and the best part is there is no downtime or scars like with invasive surgery.
My regimen consisted of 6 30-minute treatments. During the treatment, the applicators are placed directly on the skin and then strapped in place. Electrical muscle stimulation is emitted, inducing muscle contractions. It was like my muscles were squeezing without me telling them to. The stimulation is similar to the muscle contractions I experience during a workout. It was kind of wild!
The first time I tried EvolveX, it sort of felt like a brush being pressed into my muscles. There are stimulation levels too. Nicole (the awesome gal pictured here with me) would always start me off at a 1. Once I got used to the stimulation, she would steadily increase the intensity. I wanted to it be noticeable but I also didn’t want to be in real pain. She wouldn’t tell me right away what level we were at. But after a few sessions, I could call out when we hit level 8. It sort of became a joke - “You always know when we get to 8!” I honestly could not tolerate it beyond that. I got used to the sensation after a few minutes but that initial bump up to the next level is something to experience!! Wooooo!
Once we hit my max, Nicole would leave me to relax. And while I couldn’t necessarily take a nap, the rhythm of the whole thing was quite calming. It honestly felt a little like a spa treatment for myself - calm, quiet and alone. It was lovely, despite the thousand electrified kittens licking my skin.
The team shared with me that results can show right away but their experience has been that may patients will see the full effect a few months after the treatment ends. Like my experience with Coolsculpting, I have already seen some changes after my EvolveX treatment that are perhaps subtle but certainly noticeable to me. So far, I am quite pleased with the results!
The cost for this procedure is reasonable, especially when you consider the cost of more invasive options. At the time this post was written, each session cost about $325.00. When you purchase a package, you receive a discount. So for a six-session package, the total cost is $1,755.00.
Procedures like this are no joke. It’s important to work with a knowledgable and trained team. I always feel informed about what to expect at every point of a procedure with the team at Beleza. And I feel cared for from the consultation all the way through recovery. I recommend Beleza to all of my friends who express interest in services like EvolveX because I know I’m sending them to a supportive, no pressure environment. And I’m confident they will be pleased with the results for whatever they choose to do.
If you’re at all curious about EvolveX, contact Beleza. They are the best at going over the facts and managing expectations about any procedure. And they never make you feel like you have to move forward if you’re uncomfortable. I truly look forward to my visits with the Beleza team!
