Worst-Dressed City Grows Up

I’ll never forget when Pittsburgh was ranked one of the worst-dressed cities in the country by GQ. We were third, behind Los Angeles (#2) and Boston (#1). I was even interviewed about it in our local gazette. Make sure you skim to the bottom to see the quote that closed the article, thank you very much. You’ll notice the sentiment I offered still rings through everything I post, 10 years later.

The thing that brings me the most joy is how different our city looks today. Yes, we still have the same blue-collar gritty attitude that has always made us a little different from other cities. But the designers, artists and purveyors who have found a home here have brought a level of sophistication that wasn’t… how should I put this… as celebrated? Ten years ago. We’re the same but we’re different. Dare I say we’re better? Yes, I dare. We’re growing up and I am so here for it.
