:Assemble Your Ensemble:
How to Build an Outfit Piece By Piece
Celebrities and influencers can seem impossibly chic. Like, inaccessibly chic. But you will be amazed at how easy it can be to build an outfit that stands out without being fussy. Here’s a super easy ensemble built with just four pieces around one simple (and criminally comfortable) sweater dress. Bonus: The dress is from Zara and under $50!
Add a statement necklace - The curb chain is hot right now. The great news is it’s a resurfacing trend so you can rest assured that by adding this to your jewelry box, you are making a wise investment. There are some incredible, but pricey, versions. I purchased mine from Etsy for just $30.
Go for rugged footwear - Dresses are usually paired with dainty heels or sleek booties. But I love it when a woman goes for tough instead of traditionally feminine. Karen Blanchard is one of the best at this combo and I am 100% taking cues from her by choosing my Docs over anything else.
Grab your fav bag in a complimentary color - Whether you’re going for a belt bag or cross body, tote or clutch, adding a pack, purse or pouch in a slightly different but complimentary color is the bit of dimension your outfit craves.
Finish with a great coat - I’ve missed wearing my fauxs. They’re so warm and inevitably get compliments every time I leave the house in one. But really any sharp coat will put the finishing touch on your outfit.
It’s just that easy! I know we’re all feeling extra affection for our leggings and sweats. I totally get it. But it is possible to look fashionable without sacrificing comfort. I highly recommend a fitted sweater dress to help get you there!
