While I sit here, feeling a strain in my leg and also like I’m 78-years old with every grunt that escapes me when I sit, I am content in that I got to enjoy a little moment in a fancy dress. There was literally no reason I needed to put on this dress other than because I felt like it.

I got it as an option to wear to Party at the Pier two years ago. But, as you may recall, I went with Boobs of Paradise. So this has hung in my closet since the day I tried it on, tags attached. It still needs to be tailored but I don’t need to walk around in it to feel lovely.

The moral of this little story is when the minor pains in life feel like they’re over-stepping their bounds, dress up for no reason. Dress up to do the dishes. To cook dinner. To do homework. Dress up for the most mundane of reasons. It’s amazing what a little fancy time can do for one’s perspective.
